Black Duck Carbon Brush

A Black Duck Carbon Brush, is a tiny component of a motor or generator that carries electrical current between the stationary and revolving wires. The brush is usually constructed consisting of one or more carbon blocks, with one or more shunts or terminals attached. To conduct electrical current, most motors include several carbon brushes. Brushes are divided into five brush-grade groups, each of which is designed for certain motors and applications. Contact with the carbon brush transmits electrical current from the revolving shaft. Touch spots are very tiny portions of the brush that make contact with the surface of the slip ring or commutator.
